Since the essential goal of any wealth manager is to sustain and increase the long-term wealth of their clients, the profession involves a number of quite diverse disciplines. 

Indeed, wealth managers routinely provide their clients with the following types of services, customized banking solutions, estate and probate planning, general legal counsel, tax advice and investment management. Wealth managers must have at least a rudimentary understanding of capital economics, major investment theories and the networked web of modern global markets. Since they manage vast sums of money for other people, it goes without saying that they must also be ethical, trustworthy and free of any felonious record involving larceny, fraud or intentional mismanagement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting the team to develop and recommend a client-centric investment portfolio. 

  • Recognizes financial/ non-financial asset opportunities to integrate into the overall investment plan for clients. 

  • Advises and manages globally diverse investment and asset portfolios.

  • Utilizes the investment plan as a guide to a broader holistic investment methodology.

  • Develops and executes client investment strategy.

  • Provides advice to generate returns commensurate with an acceptable level of risk for the client. 

  • Assists financial advisors in client conversations, providing analytic information and aiming to understand the client's goals. 

  • Develops customized asset allocation strategies and investment solutions for clients. 

  • Analyzes and interprets portfolio performance reviews and makes recommendations to financial advisors for potential change.
